Marjorie Following her Goals

Following My Goals

March 03, 20233 min read

I have always had big dreams and high standards for myself. One of the most important lessons I’ve learned while laying the groundwork for my goals is that planning and implementing certain strategies can take time. There is no magic pill or “quick cure” that will guarantee success. The only way to attain long-term success is through hard work and dedication.

How does goal setting fuel my ambition?

Goal setting is an effective method for focusing on what’s essential and evaluating my progress. When I set objectives, I not only have something to strive for, but I also maintain my motivation. When I consider my objectives, I am less likely to become sidetracked by matters of lesser importance. I can readily see how this would benefit productivity or the acquisition of new skills. Because it enables me to direct my energy in the most efficient and effective manner.

What was my short-term goal?

My short-term goal was to pursue employment in the marketing industry. I began applying for employment in that industry as a strategy for achieving my objective. I desired a position to develop my resume and portfolio for post-graduation.

How have I achieved my short-term goal and why circumstances have changed my short-term goal

I accomplished my short-term goal by establishing a marketing career for myself. In order to change my goal, I had to determine what was available. In my area, I discovered there were few marketing job openings. Therefore, starting my own business appeared to be my best option. This will enable me to expand my business while pursuing further education. This also allows me to select the clients I desire to work with and gives me control over my own income. As opposed to having a fixed salary, as is the case with traditional employment.

Setting a new goal for where I currently am.

The new goal is for my business to do $5,000 in monthly revenue within 1 year. I will need 18 software customers or 10 regular service customers to reach my monthly revenue goal. Software customers pay monthly, whereas service customers pay per campaign. I must also create a marketing campaign to attract new clients who suit our ideal profile: small businesses that require assistance with online marketing but do not have a large budget for a larger agency.

My medium-term and long-term goals and the steps I taken toward them

My medium goal is to obtain a Bachelor of Arts in digital marketing from Full Sail University. I am presently enrolled in all classes required for this degree and putting my full effort into each class in order to graduate as quickly as possible. My original long-term objective was to operate my own marketing agency, but I’ve since changed it to earning a master’s degree in business. Which I will enroll in following the completion of my bachelor’s degree.

Conclusion

I am a goal-oriented individual, and I don’t just mean that I want to accomplish tasks. My goals are also essential because they provide me with something concrete to focus on when other aspects of life become challenging or confusing. When dealing with stressors such as relationship conflicts or financial problems, it’s easy to lose sight of what’s most important. However, if I have a specific goal in mind (such as helping people), it helps me maintain my focus on what’s most important during those times when our priorities shift due to factors beyond our control.

This was an school assignment for Full Sail University.
